About The Spin Insider
The Spin Insider exists for one reason: most UK operator-affiliate sites are paid lists wearing editorial clothing. We wanted a publication that treats UK gamblers the way a financial-services magazine treats investors — with rigour, real testing, and visible methodology.
What we do
Every night at 8pm, we publish one operator pick. Eight ranked operators on the front page, the top one promoted to Editor's Choice. Below the operator stack, we publish six rotating briefings: deep-dives into payout speed, welcome bonus mechanics, live-table providers, crypto-first operator trade-offs, real-vs-scripted VIP programmes, and responsible play.
We send the same nightly pick to subscribers by email at 8pm. One pick. One email. No promotional messages between picks.
How we rank
Operators are scored against a documented four-pillar methodology: payout speed (40 points), licence and integrity (25 points), bonus fairness (20 points), and support response (15 points). The full rubric is published at How we rank.
Every operator on our list has been tested by our editorial team with a real £500 withdrawal in the last 90 days. The number we publish is the number we measured, not the number the operator's marketing team claimed.
How we make money
We earn an affiliate commission when a reader signs up at an operator we recommend, by clicking a Visit Site button on our list. This is the only way the publication is funded.
Commission rates are negotiated after an operator earns a ranking position, never before. We have walked away from operators that requested ranking changes in exchange for higher commission. We disclose every operator we earn from on our Terms and in the methodology page.
You will never pay more — or receive a smaller bonus — for arriving at an operator via our link. Many operators give Spin Insider readers an exclusive welcome top-up.
Editorial team
The Spin Insider is written by a small editorial team based in the UK and Europe. We don't publish individual bylines because the integrity of the methodology matters more than any one writer's profile. The team has cumulative twenty-plus years across financial journalism, regulatory compliance, and online operator product roles.

Our editorial line
Three things we won't compromise on:
- We never accept payment to alter rankings. Operators that request this leave the list permanently and are named in our annual transparency report.
- We never recommend an operator we haven't tested. If a brand isn't on our list, it's because we haven't put real money through it in the last 90 days, or it failed our test.
- We never advertise to anyone we believe is at risk of harm. Self-excluded readers are removed from our list within 24 hours via GamStop integration on our subscribe form. When the night stops being fun is our reference page on responsible play.
